Building Intersectional Justice for Black Communities

Advancing digital equity, strengthening climate resilience, and expanding access to safe, affordable housing—across the DMV.

Our Mission

JSERV advances equitable community development by strengthening access to funding, research, and strategic resources that support digital equity, climate resilience, housing stability, and historically informed public policy.

The organization works to empower communities and institutions through data-driven research, program development, and grant strategy that expands opportunity and preserves historically significant narratives.

What We Do

We focus on three priority areas—designed to produce real, measurable outcomes for people and the communities they call home.

Card 1: AI & Automation (Digital Equity)
Practical, no-code AI training and automation that helps adults 50+ build confidence, capability, and new pathways to income and independence.

Card 2: Climate Resilience
Community-centered planning and support that helps neighborhoods prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate impacts.

Card 3: Housing Affordability
Research, planning, and prevention strategies that support stability and reduce barriers to safe, affordable housing.

Who We Serve

  • Adults 50+ impacted by the digital divide (especially those seeking workforce re-entry) jservdmv.org

  • Black communities and under-resourced neighborhoods facing climate and housing inequities jservdmv.org+1

  • Community partners: nonprofits, local leaders, and mission-aligned organizations seeking evidence-based support

How We Work

We start with community needs, translate them into practical programs, and deliver results partners can document. JSERV blends accessible training, measurable pilots, and hands-on implementation—so solutions don’t stay on paper.

  • Listen first: community-informed priorities

  • Build capacity: training + tools people can use immediately

  • Measure outcomes: clear milestones and reporting

  • Partner for scale: collaboration that sustains impact
